Been working towards getting my products approved by NAFDAC and soon it will be a reality but while working and planning towards my NAFDAC goal, I do not want to hoard such information that could change your life from you.
Now, read slowly.
NAFDAC for small business owners has been categorised under Micro and Sme.
Why? Because the NAFDAC body or federal government as it were knows that business revenues are not the same . As a start up, you can't be on the same level with a Coca-Cola company. Often wondered how those "japata and iya alagbo" are NAFDAC approved and you aren't?
Below without wasting your time, let me give you this information and I hope you take it up from here and draw out a plan.
To register your product under Micro which is my focus will cost just N37,000 on the NAFDAC website . It you have the same product in different grams , then you will have to register all the grams or kg separately. You can't use the same nafdac number for all your different grams even though it's the same product. (Well this I have an issue with).
So what do you need to have or get to be Nafdac approved under Micro?
Take a look at the basic requirements below;
1. Evidence of Registration with Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC).
2. (Business Name and/ or incorporation).
3. Site use Agreement (Where applicable).
4. Evidence of Trademark approval. This is not compulsory but it advised in order to prptecy your business or brand name.
5. One vetting Sample and three labels of your design stickers .
6 . Fumigation certificate which must be under 3 months.
7. Copy of Receipt of Payment for production registration.
8 . Food handlers certificate / medical fitnesscertificate for production staff, this should include the following: Sputum test, stool test, Urinary test,Widal test, Hepatitis B.
With these , you are good to go.
